Sarah Kaber, Principal, Hawthorne School
Ms. Kaber served as the Interim Assistant Principal at Hawthorne during the 2017-18 school year and is a familiar face throughout the district. She previously served as a Technology Coach, Kindergarten, Third Grade, Fifth Grade and Middle School Math Intervention teacher at Hawthorne, Horace Mann and Beverly Vista Schools. Interim Principal Richard Waters will continue in his role as Hawthorne Assistant Principal.
“Ms. Kaber is highly intelligent and deeply committed to improving teaching and learning experiences for our K-8 students,” said BHUSD Superintendent Michael Bregy, “In a time of rapid change and increased expectations on schools, her natural ability to connect with students, parents and staff is of critical importance.”
“I’m so excited to continue to work with Mr. Waters and the rest of our staff,” said Kaber, “Our team has really moved Hawthorne forward this year and we’ll continue to build on that success.”
Chris Regan, Principal, Beverly Vista School
Prior to joining the Beverly Vista staff as Interim Principal in January of 2018, Mr. Regan was an Assistant Principal at Beverly Hills High School. He previously served as a middle school Principal in the Bonita Unified School District, Assistant Principal in the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District and as Dean of Students at Alice C. Stelle Middle School and classroom teacher at Calabasas High School in the Las Virgenes Unified School District.
Leonidas Tarca, Assistant Principal, Horace Mann School
Mr. Tarca joins Horace Mann from Montague Charter Academy in the northern San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles where he has served as Principal from 2014-18. Mr. Tarca was previously an Assistant Principal in the Burbank and Simi Valley School Districts and served as a classroom teacher and Dean of Students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
