Dear Families,

I am so excited to start another year here at Beverly Vista Elementary. My name is Ashley Hacker and I will be your child’s third grade teacher for the 2016-2017 school year.

I attended Arizona State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education,  go Devils! I went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

In Arizona I spent six years teaching grades 2nd-5th in the Cartwright School District before moving with my husband to Los Angeles. For the past three years I have been the English Learner Teacher/Coordinator for both Beverly Vista and Horace Mann Schools. I was also the Title One Teacher and Coordinator for one year.

A little more about me. I will have been married for 5 years this October. I have a 16-month old daughter named Taylor Marie. I love riding my beach cruiser and enjoy spending time with family.

Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions or concerns by emailing at ahacker1@bhusd.org and don’t forget to subscribe to this webpage for 3rd grade news!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ashley Hacker

Math Homework

Students take a "quick check" at the end of every lesson to determine their level of understanding of the topic taught. How the student performs on the quick check determines which math homework they will complete that night. If a child does not have the chance to take the quick check, they may either take it at home before completing homework or simply choose which page they feel they should complete. Students are NOT required to complete more than 1 page. Students are always welcome to try more than the page assigned to them originally.

100%-Enrichment Page (Separate page provided by teacher)
60%-80%-Practice Page (Black Math Workbook)
0%-40%-Reteaching page (Black Math Workbook)

*Any changes to homework will be reflected in the student agenda.

Parent meeting 8/15
