8th Grade Graduation Details

Dear parents of 8th Grade Beverly Vista student,

Two of the most highly anticipated events of the school year are the 8th grade graduation ceremony and graduation night party.
The graduation party has traditionally been considered a gift from the parents to the graduating class. These events are neither funded, nor organized, by the PTA or school administration; therefore, your financial contribution and cooperation is critical to making this event successful. Several parent volunteers are already hard at work to make these memorable events for all our children.

Your financial contributions allow for each student to receive:

  • 2018 personalized yearbook
  • Gown for the graduation ceremony
  • Class graduation picture
  • 8th grade luncheon for students after graduation rehearsal
  • Folders and materials for high school counselor visit
  • Incoming 9th grade parent forum
  • 9th grade parent social

Party expenses include costs for invitations, decorations, party favors, DJ, entertainment, location fees, food and beverage, photographer, and more. It is also traditional to cover the expense of invited 8th grade faculty members, principal, and assistant principal.

We are requesting a graduation contribution for each 8th grade student of $300, which includes all of the above. We are requesting your attention to this now so that we may plan accordingly. Please make your checks payable to "BV Graduating Class".
If you'd like to pay in installments, please contact April Jergens at (213) 200-4381 or Laurie Okum at (310) 927-7418 to make arrangements.  We will gladly accept payments starting immediately, as well as any additional cash or in-kind donations you would like to contribute to help offset costs. Please pay the total balance by November 1st, 2017. Thank you very much.

If paying by check, please put you check in an envelope and clearly label it "Graduation Committee". Your child can give the envelope to his/her homeroom teacher or you can put it n the 8th Grade Graduation Box located in the mailroom in the office (bottom right side). You can also contact Cristina Lepar at to remit payment. Please do not enclose cash.

Thank you
